We went to Kansas City over Thanksgiving for an early anniversary and had a great time. It's nice to go somewhere that you have been, or in our case, lived so you don’t feel obligated to do any touristy things (not that KC is super tourist or anything). We mostly ate and drank. Went to Tomfooleries on Wednesday night. We're sentimental to the place because it was our old Cheers. There was an awesome band that played Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Ray C. and Marvin G. We did some serious dancing, mostly by ourselves on the floor. The next day was the Chiefs Broncos game and we tailgated with Keri and the Myers boys. So much fun. Friday we had breakfast/lunch at Arthur Bryant’s. Just what the doctor ordered. I wish I could live here and have it three times a day. It is hands down the best BBQ that I’ve had to date and we wobbled out pathetically. That evening we just walked around the Plaza to catch all of the holiday lights. It really is beautiful. Had a late dinner at Classic Cup. It’s a little brasserie type of place on the plaza. We had some goat cheese and garlic, crab and a port crème brulee for dinner. Oh, and two bottles of wine. Our server was such a nice guy and put a bottle of wine and dessert on the house. I love that place. The last night was Bluestem, a place that we have wanted to try forever. You can read the review on Gusto b/c it’s pretty detailed. What a great weekend!
