Our Favorites

Well, we already have some places that we've made our favorites, here's a little about where we like to hang our hats.

Biddy's- This is an Irish Pub just a few doors down from our apartment. I'm not sure if they ever close, but they have great people, all from Galway, who work behind the bar. It's a dark, cozy small space and really, the perfect neighborhood bar. Nate likes to play Connect Four and I like to crank up the jukebox. http://biddyspub.com/

Blue Owl- This is our favorite place to get drinks in the East Village. The owner, Ashley and bartender, Charles, are the most wonderful guys ever. The drinks are so so delicious and even made me a whiskey drinker (on occasion). They have a great happy hour and good noshes. Oh, and a kick ass hidden private room. http://www.blueowlnyc.com/#home

John's of 12th- Just around the corner from Blue Owl and nods to Ashley for the intro is John's. Simple and perfect Italian. The place is an old speakeasy that dates back 100 years or more. Old school with great service and my favorite veal parmesan. Heard it was in last seasons Sopranos but we don't get cable. http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/45215614?marqueeType=vote_duplicate&specialtyId=32

Cavatappo Wine Bar- This little gem is right down the block and we end up here quite a bit. Mostly because they have a great outdoor space with tables along the sidewalk. They have a nice wine list, not to mention lots of good cheese and the owner is a really friendly guy with lots of good suggestions. http://www.cavatappo.com/locationhours.html

Taco Taco- Also down the street, delicious pork tacos and made-by-your-table- guacamole. A cute space with twinkle lights and the best passion fruit margaritas ever. Also, noteworthy flavors include the coconut and mango. http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/taco-taco/

Ottomanelli's Cafe- This is a tiny little red-checked tablecloth Italian cafe is a few blocks from our place. There's one outdoor table that we wait for and the pizza is cheap and good. The best part is that it's BYOB. Last time we brought a huge jug of wine and our dinner was less than $20.

Five Front- We have been here only once with Keith and Amy and it was great. A must for the Brooklyn Bridge tour that we will take people on, no doubt. Fresh, so good and affordable food with the best outdoor space, set right under the bridge. http://www.fivefrontrestaurant.com/

Pinkberry- After what I thought would be a tearful goodbye to my beloved TCBY, I rebounded and traded her in for a newer model. Pinkberry! This is some crazy cult craze that started in LA that seemed kinda silly and there are lines that snake down 2nd Ave near my apartment but I since I am a frozen yogurt connoisseur, I felt the need to give it a whirl. I like the plain with fruit and cereal toppings, preferable mango, coco pebbles and yogurt chips. The yogurt is sour and like nothing else. I don't mind the line. http://www.pinkberry.com/html/product_1.html

Yoga Works- I did yoga once a long time ago and had it in my head that it was not for those with ADD, like myself. I was wrong. One more try and I am a devout to Yoga Works. I leave with a sense of peace, fulfillment and not to mention, dripping with sweat. http://www.yogaworks.com/newyork/

Balthazar- The drinks are pretty good but the bartenders are super great and it has a really cool atmosphere where there is bound to be a celeb or two, but not pretentious at all. http://www.balthazarny.com/

Pravda- Cool, underground Russian bar with really good drinks and good snacks like potato chips with caviar. http://www.pravdany.com/home.html

Nick's Pizza- Another good one in our hood. This is more of a sit down, than grab-a-slice and go place, but it's so good. It's also not too expensive and serves it's house red wine cold in a carafe. http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/nicks-pizza00/

Enough for now, we'll share more later. Love to you all.
