Last night, Anne took me to my first NBA game as an Anniversary gift. It was an awesome gift, and I had a fantastic time. We saw the Knicks take on the Mavericks at Madison Square Garden. I have to say I'm not a huge NBA fan as a rule, but I have really been wanting to go to a Knicks game and it was awesome. The players, overall are unbelievably good. Also, I couldn't help noticing that the Knicks as a team, are really terrible in so many different ways. However, in spite of this fact, the crowd was solid and really into the game. That atmosphere made it awesome. I can only imagine what it must be like when they are competitive, or even in a playoff game. The fans began multiple chants calling for the firing of both Isiah (the coach) and Dolan (the owner). While tough to fire the owner, it demonstrates the purity of the hatred for these two the fans have. If you haven't been to an NBA game, or if you don't really follow any particular team, don't let this sway you. They really are a good time, and if possible seeing it in MSG, arguably the most famous arena in the world, is a plus. I certainly plan on seeing more, and am lucky that Anne is willing to take me to things like that in light of her overall disinterest in sports. I think though, that she could get into basketball. It was the most attentive I've seen her at a game in a while. I'm definitely pumped to see another, and plan on doing it again soon.
