Our Charlie Brown Tree

We were pretty sure that when we moved to New York we'd be living in something that resembled a shoe box, so we left the unnecessary items like ornaments and a fake Christmas tree, in our storage unit in Springfield.
So this year, we decided to buy a real tree, my first ever and I'll never go back. She's a beauty (and smells so good)...but that's really where the eye candy ends. We really went for the "budget look"and decided to string popcorn and throw on a little garland. Stringing popcorn is fun for all of about 5 minutes-until your hand are greasy and then poked with the needle and salted and stinging. 6 hours later and you've produced enough ropes of popcorn to cover about a third of a 5 foot tree. In addition for the decor, we had one sting of colored lights that randomly worked, 12 colored balls and although Nate claimed that they were the ultimate in ghetto, those messy icicles completed our Charlie Brown tree. Despite it all, we are probably more proud of this tree than any other.
