Valentine's Day

Hey friends, it's my turn to post again and this one is going to be pretty x-rated by the end. Just kidding. This year on Valentine's Anne and I went out to eat at a restaurant called Anna Maria Trattoria. The appropriately named (for us) restaurant is becoming a bit of a Valentine's tradition. Last year, while visiting NYC from Spfd we were staying in a hotel around the corner from where we now live. I know, weird. Anyway, we happened to be here for my birthday and Valentine's. On Valentine's night there was a massive blizzard and we were determined to go out to eat. However, with essentially no knowledge of the neighborhood, and very little money, we started walking in the raging snow to wherever we might find. We walked for about 10 blocks, repeatedly finding most places closed for the weather. Eventually, as you might have guessed by now, we happened upon Anne Maria. The atmosphere is pretty nice. Not fancy at all, but not cheezy or cheap looking either. When we were there we had the best service from a nice italian man, he ended up giving us free desert and took good care of us as we were one of the only idiots out in the snow. So this year, we thought it would be fun to go back to the same place. I was off so I picked up a little wine and whipped up some sweet/savory appetizers in...you guessed it, the panini maker (I would make cereal in that if I thought I could). We listened to a little music then headed on to our spot. We decided we would walk no matter the weather for the sake of tradition. It turned out to be pretty nice though, so the place was quite a bit busier. In spite of the bustle, we ended up with the same waiter, and the same excellent food and service. I had a delicious pizza, and Anne had the some really good pasta, and I'm not really that young anymore anyway. It ended up being a fantastic evening, and one of the best Valentine's the two of us have had yet.
