Halloween

Halloween-maybe my most favorite holiday of the year. I start getting excited about it before the retail stores can put their merchandise out on the shelves and I begin to drive Nate crazy about what kind of costume (usually involving some type of 80’s celebrity couple) that we will be, right around the end of July. But, in my usually fashion, I don’t actually put a plan into action and get a costume and Oct 29th rolls around and yet again, I’m sans costume just days before Halloween. Lucky me, a friend from work brought me her famous recycled costume that she wore last year and although it appeared to be nothing special, she said that it produced rave reviews. The costume consisted of wearing all black, green glow wings, some antennas and a green Tupperware bowl filled with glowsticks and fashioned around my bum. Voila-lighting bug.
This would be my first Halloween in NYC and the good news was that this city hosted one of the best costume parades in the country that I really wanted to see, but the bad news was that Nate had to work until midnight. Our friend, Kevin works at a studio that produces commercials in Soho and happened to have one of the best views of the parade has one of the most fun parties. He and Courtney were gracious enough to add my name to the guest-list and invite me to this shindig, so I went with those two and Courtney’s roommates, Rick and AJ. The space was huge, with plenty of bars, scary movies playing on the walls and some pretty great costumes, one of my favorite being the Wham boys. And, to give Jen credit, the costume was a huge hit, the black lights made my fanny glow like mad and it will probably be the only night in my life where I would have let so many people take pictures of my backside. I spent the party on the dance floor and finally had to call it a night, and one of the best Halloweens Eves ever, after the Thriller.
